Experience Lesotho in its winter wonderland on this unforgettable full-day adventure from Underberg to Afriski Mountain Resort. Available exclusively during the winter months (June – August), this tour combines a scenic 4X4 journey over the iconic Sani Pass with time on the snow-covered slopes of Afriski, a rare and exhilarating experience in Southern Africa.

Departing early to make the most of the day, you’ll travel deep into Lesotho’s highlands, where dramatic mountain scenery, crisp air, and snow-dusted peaks set the scene. Upon arrival at Afriski, enjoy a thrilling 2-hour bum-boarding session (or snow tubing for kids) on the ski slopes, followed by a relaxed lunch at the Highest Restaurant in Africa, with time to soak up the views and atmosphere before the return journey.

This is a long but rewarding day designed for adventure lovers looking to experience Lesotho at its most magical.

WHAT TO BRING / WEAR

Dress in warm layers, with outerwear suitable for snow, closed shoes, and accessories like a beanies and scarves.

We recommend bringing a change of warm and dry clothing, socks and shoes as a day out in the snow can get wet.

Cash and card (some small curio shops do not accept cards; South African Rands are accepted in Lesotho. Afriski Resort accepts card payments)

Feel free to also bring along your own snacks for the car ride if you like.

Cancellation Policy

50% cancellation fee applies to cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the tour date.
100% cancellation fee applies to cancellations made within 14 days of the tour date.

Snow & Pass Conditions

Winter conditions in the high mountains can be unpredictable. In the event that snow conditions make it uncertain whether Afriski can be reached, we will offer the following options:

Proceed with the tour as far as safely possible, based on road and weather conditions.
No refund will be applicable in this case.
Reschedule the tour to a later date, subject to availability.
No refund will be issued.

If the road through to Afriski is closed by border authorities before the scheduled departure, guests may choose between:

A 90% refund (10% retained for administrative and online booking fees), or

Rescheduling the tour to a later date.

Kindly note Afriski’s cancellation and refund policy below which will apply to the portion of the tour which is paid directly to Afriski for accommodation and / or skiing / snow activities:

Between 47 and 31 days prior to the arrival date, the guest will be charged 30% of the accommodation and skiing activities portion of the cancelled booking value should the booking be cancelled;
Between 30 and 14 days prior to the arrival date, the guest will be charged 100% of the accommodation and skiing activities portion of the cancelled booking value should the booking be cancelled;
No shows will be charged for in full.
